#charandslimehk2014 part 2!

Day 3:

The lift really had the best lighting and mirrors! And I really like this outfit I wore hehe.

After the previous day where we woke up early to head to Disneyland, the rest of our days here we slept in hehe. Our rooms were tiny but cosy!! and most of the time we only got back to our hotel at 10/11pm.

Anyway, this fine day we were heading to Sham Shui Po to try the only Michelin Star restaurant we could afford - Tim Ho Wan! Yeppppp I know what you're thinking- "Singapore have whaaaaaatttt..." and yes indeedydoo we do! But it actually tastes better, and its cheaper there! Only one HUGE drawback is that it is unbelievably out of the way. If not for the fact that we bought a SIM Card and had google maps available, it would have been almost impossible to find.

I think in total we only spent $10sgd each for our brunch? Plus one other thing I like about their outlet is that it's super old school! Our local outlets are all so polished and shiny and new.

After eating, we took a train down to Tsim Sha Tsui, where we walked around fancy malls and drank Gong Cha! I don't remember shopping much except at H&M and I.T, where I bought some 3CE products! So far I really like their stuff and I wish I bought more!! :< Probably will purchase them online heeeheeeeee.

Wearing leather jacket from Topshop, scarf from India, stripey top from Runway Bandits, midi skirt from a Carousell preorder, flats from New Look and bag from NET in Taiwan!

After a short break, we headed to Avenue of the Stars which was along the Victoria Harbour Waterfront. I was there on my first trip to Hong Kong when I was 15 and I thought it was ultra lame - TBH I still think it's quite lame but thankfully 6 years later I have a higher tolerance for it!! Basically Avenue of the Stars is Hong Kong's answer to Hollywood's Walk of Fame, except I only recognised 1/10th of the names we passed. But the harbour does have a lovely view :-)

Luv dis shit - roasted cuttlefish!!!!! So nice and warm and comforting n__n

hahahahhaahhahaa wts slime

Finally we hopped over to Jordan for dinner at the super talked about Australian Dairy Co! The name is still a mystery to me - Australian?? Dairy???

Ordering food at Cha Chaan Tengs are always a nightmare, but thankfully our waiter could speak English!

Looks unappetising but was nice and warm and filling! Actually to be really, really honest... all the Cha Chaan Tengs were equally good to me and they all kinda served the same things... but then again we only went to the recommended outlets heh. But I noticed all our meals had no veg!!! Not cool man.

Food was good and the staff were quite friendly! Err a bit over friendly at times too one of the guys took my phone away at one point and another one of them said “我会想你。。。” when we were leaving... creepy.

Following our dinner we had dessert at the shop next door - didn't really like my sesame paste at that shop, too watered down! :(

Slime enjoyed her mango ice thingy though!

Back in the hotel and taking photos of my pretties hehehe

Day 4:

Woke up late again and we headed to Central for Honolulu Cafe's Egg Tarts!!!!!

But first, another outfit shot

Slime digging into her Bo Lo Yau...

And me into the egg tarts!!!! Super yummy flaky buttery goodness UGH I WANT ONE NOW

And Bacon Macaroni Soup whee!!!

And after lunch we went to...

more egg tarts!!!!!!!!

Yayyyyus. It was a different style of egg tart from Honolulu's but also super good!!! These are supposedly the best in Hong Kong :o

After that, we shopped at Topshop which we agreed was quite lame cos the prices are almost the same in Singapore heh.

After that we headed to Causeway Bay to check our Island Beverly which Slime's aunt recommended! It was mostly local designers and really unique pieces but mostly winter coats or really over priced clothes :( Mostly winter wear cos when we went it was still considered early Spring!

No matter cos after that we found the 4 storey Forever 21!!!!!!!

After lots of walking about, it was finally dinner time and we met up with our Church friend Debra/ Bonkie who was working there at that time, and she took us for dinner at Casa Fina hehehe.

After dinner, Bonkie took us on a Ding Ding, which is the Hong Kong bus/ tram. Was quite exciting because we probably wouldn't have gotten on one without her as it was pretty confusing!

We had dessert at what Bonkie called the 'hipster' area of Hong Kong! I can't remember the name of the shop but I think it had something to do with aunties or grandmothers...?? Anyway I had Chocolate and Peant Butter Tang Yuan in Hot Soya Milk and it was really goooooooooooood!!!!! Don't think I'll ever be able to find it again though :'(

Day 5/ Last day!!! :(

Woke up late as usual and had our cutesie hello kitty noodles for breakfast!

All bundled up! We headed to Central again to dapao Tai Cheong egg tarts for our friends and fam hehehe. And after that we went back to Topshop cos they were having a sale!!! 50% off on top of sale price say what whaaaaaaat.

Non-sale shoes I bought hehe.

And for once, the sun was out!!

Egg Waffles to snack on as we headed back to the hotel to drop off our egg tarts mmmmm.

We were super hungry when we got back to Mongkok and so we stopped by a cafe to grab some late lunch! Finally had some yummy gong zai mian, and mine had pork chop :Q

And finally... we went to Mongkok Centre to shop!!! We totally regretted not going there on an earlier date because we had spent majority of our cash by then, and the stuff they were selling were really cute! Think Bugis Street/ Far East Plaza kinda prices and styles - lotsa cute knits and shoes and jeans ahhhhh we should have gone there earlier!!! :( In the end I got a faux leather bag for $25 and a knit sweater for about $12. I really would've bought a ton of knit tops if I didn't already have a mountain of them at home!

Met up with Bonkie again and she brought us to Colourmix which sells the cheapest beauty products!! We bought some Laneige stuff wheeee.

And it was Valentines day!! So many people it was quite scary.

After our final stop at H&M at Langham Place, we went back to out Hotel for the final packing!

We took the last train to the airport because we didn't want to take a cab (dangerous + expensive) and were very early... but our flight was for 5am and we figured we would just wait for an hour or so before checking in and taking a nap inside. BUT when we reached, the worst thing that could possibly happen, happened:

Our flight was cancelled.

And we weren't informed.

Seriously Scoot Airlines is the worst!!!!!!!! I was so angry and frustrated and confused but the worst part was that there was no one to explain things to us. We had to go to the general enquiries counter to ask, and she sent us to another counter where all the scoot lady could say was "Scoot is having an emergency meeting now, but we will let you know by 4:30am."

It was about 1am. We had to wait 3.5 hours to get an answer.

Left with no choice, we had to try to sleep on the chairs. I set an alarm for 4:30am just so I could run to the counter and get my answer >:( Barely got any sleep, but was first in line at the scoot counter #championkiasu. Anyway, long story short, we weren't offered any explanation as to why our flight was cancelled, but they did get us another flight to Singapore around the same time via SIA. But still!!!!! I had to run up and down and wait around unnecessarily long, no proper explanation was given, and our only reimbursement was $100HKD which is like, $16 to buy breakfast.

Pffffffft never gonna fly by Scoot again! Lousy service you can go see their Facebook page which is riddled complaints.

Anyhow! I'm finally done with this monster of a post B-) Some advice I would give to people who are planning a trip to Hongkong are:

- Get an Octopus Card! It isn't too expensive and you get your deposit back at the end
- Get a SIM Card! It really helped when we were lost and needed google maps #generationY
- Make a list of the things you want to eat and places you want to go before going there - you'll probably be too dazzled when you reach to actually plan when you're there
- Have sufficient cash! Most cafes and small shops only take cash, save the credit card for the bigger shops like H&M
- Wear comfortable shoes because it's going to be a lot of walking, and their MTRs don't have escalators.

I love Hong Kong! Will definitely be going back but maybe not so soon, and during the summertime to get more SG appropriate clothes. Ok, until next time!
