Top 5 All-Year Round Blushes!

To be honest, when I first started wearing make up, I didn't have a single blush in my stash. Zero. For some reason I thought blush was for older ladies or stage performers and so I just avoided it altogether. Which didn't last long, because I have the sallow complexion of an anemic vampire (does that even make sense??) and so I finally 'invested' in one - ELF's Candid Coral, which was supposedly a dupe for NARS Orgasm (on hindsight, it's not a very good dupe) and that started my love affair with blushes!

I have several more, terribly underused ones, but these are the ones I find myself reaching for the most! Thought I'd do a mini review on each of them, so if you're looking for something new fo yo face keeeeeeeep reading!

1. Too Faced Sweetheart Blush ($39) -

What can I say - I'm a sucker for cute packaging + it's heart shaped! This tri-tone blush claims to mix together a perfect pink for everyday wear, and it does create a pretty sweet pink. Slightly on the frosty side, but I do like the girl-next-door look it creates. This blush was not super cheap, but for the amount of blush it hold it's definitely good value for money.

2. Benefit's Bella Bamba 3D Blush ($46) -

I constantly question - how is this 3D?? But specifics aside, this has been one of my go-to blushes since I purchased it almost 2 years ago. Yep, 2 years and nary a dent in it despite using it almost every other day! I love the watermelon pink with gold sparkle, and plus it smells yummy and summery! Always a plus point ;-) I would say this is a great first blush to own if you're just starting, because the colour isn't too scary and is always SO flattering, and the gold shimmer makes the apples of your cheek pop! Just beware - it is very pigmented and you should go light when sweeping up the product.

3. Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Natural Beauty ($42) -

One of my newest additions that I CANNOT put down!! Estee of Essiebutton calls this her Snow White blush, and I can see why! The colour looks a little scary and red in the compact, but transforms to a gorgeous natural glow - like you just came in from somewhere cold (not applicable in Singapore), or ran up the stairs (not applicable to me) or just blushed (also not applicable to me - I have a lack of blood vessels in my face). I think it looks best on fair skin, but I've also read somewhere that it's gorgeous on tan skin as well.

4. Stila Lip and Cheek Stain in Cherry Crush and Raspberry Crush ($36)

Ok, cheated on this one! But to be honest, only one of these is stellar, and it's Cherry Crush. I love love love the warm rosy red colour it creates on my cheeks! Plus its so great for travel, I only brought this as my blush to Hong Kong. For some reason, the formulation on both are different: Cherry is a little more gel-like while Raspberry is more like a cream, and Raspberry stains sooooo easily and is about 10x more pigmented. I've almost entirely used up the Cherry one, and I think I'll definitely be repurchasing.

P.S It smells like cherries!!!!

5. 3 Concept Eyes Cream Blusher in Baby Peach ($20??)

I do love my cream blushes, because a) they don't stain fingers like a stain b) they blend so well on the face c) they last pretty long. I love this colour, although it's slightly on the orangey side, because it has that korean make up look which I'm loving (think dewy skin, simple eye make up, peachy-orange cheeks, Park Sora...) Very subtle, very sweet, and my only qualm is I wish they came in more colours! AND that I could buy it in Singapore :( But I.T is opening soon and there's gonna be a Stylenanda so FINGERS CROSSED

Welllllllll that's about it for now! What are your favourite blushes? Maybe I'll do another of this series on my favourite eye make-up products...? Til next time!
